„The populus-tremula sound-garden“ (2013) Audio Work by[/lang_en] Bojana Šaljić Podešva
The journey of a thousand miles begins beneath one’s feet, said Lao-Tse. The journey in search of happiness, sense of life, better present moment, fragile beauty…? Fragility is itself a source of beauty in this special garden, as it symbolizes vertigo on the thin bridge of the social balance, conditioned by the mankind living on the planet with limited resources. Thin bridge between to-be and not-to-be, wherein “to-be” manifests only as long as a critical mass of individuals strives after it. – It doesn’t matter; it always starts from just where you are; engage and enjoy the journey! – the garden invites.
And so does the sound-garden, the sound-constructed maze. Its interactive form derives from the radio-aporee’s ability to create a vivid sound-architecture. The core of the maze consists of the abstract sounds, knitted into ever-changing patterns. The visitor / listener is invited to explore the maze, find the clue and discover hidden treasures…
